Nice to know I'm not the only one who started the day that way. I have my GreatUncle's Police Positive in .32 caliber. This brought back memories.
I got goosebumps reading that story.
My favorite gun is a Colt Vest Pocket .25 auto. Not for shooting... but my grandfather bought it when he graduated from Northwestern in 1927 before moving to Seattle. I guess back then people still figured you needed a shooting iron if you were Going West.
It's still in the original box, too. And even though I don't shoot it, I do enjoy taking it down and reassembling it - it's a little jewel. So even though my grandfather's choice of caliber was suspect, at least he got himself a JMB gun.
Too bad he didn't go for a 1911, though...
when you link to something, I always know it will be worth chasing. This was lovely. Thanks.
